God has given Christ Church a unique relationship with The Church and God's work in various areas around the world. We want to maintain close contact with our partners, praying regularly for them and sending short-term teams to work with them when and where appropriate.
We go as learners to minister alongside our mission partners - to join them in what they are already doing, to provide additional resources and hands, to train, and to teach. Our hope is that lives will be affected because of what God does through us by the power of the Holy Spirit for God's glory.
As we prepare for and go out on short-term missions, upon our return, and in our debriefing, we desire to pursue excellence and to strengthen our overall effectiveness worldwide. Global Ministries at Christ Church has adopted and committed to the SOE's Seven Standards of Excellence in our short-term mission efforts.
Over the past few years, participation in our Global Ministry programs has exploded. Our short-term trips alone have more than quadrupled - and they continue to grow! In 2005 over 300 people participated in short-term trips.
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:16-20
